Prepare an Image in One Place
The Edit tab changes the image itself. The Home tab changes only how you view it.
Adjust Color
Brightness, contrast, saturation, and exposure sliders preview live on the image. Apply writes the result into the image, and Reset returns every slider to neutral.
Crop, Rotate, and Flip
Crop with drag handles and hold Shift to keep the proportions, rotate 90 degrees in either direction, and flip horizontally or vertically.
Resize to Exact Pixels
Enter a width and height in pixels with the aspect ratio locked or free, and choose Lanczos, Bicubic, or Nearest resampling.
Image Info
Show Info lists the dimensions, format, color space, resolution, and file size, plus the camera, date taken, focal length, ISO, aperture, and location when the file records them.
View
Photos open upright, as the camera recorded them. Zoom in and out, fit the image to the window or view it at actual size, and rotate the view without changing the image.
Save, Print, and Export
Save keeps the original format, with its EXIF data and color profile. Save As converts to another format, with a quality setting for JPEG and HEIC, and an image can also be printed or exported as a PDF.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which image formats does LynxOffice open?
PNG, JPEG, HEIC, TIFF, GIF, BMP, and WebP. Save As offers the formats your Mac can write, which on current versions of macOS is every one of them except WebP.
Does saving keep the camera data?
Yes, when you save in the original format: the EXIF data and color profile are written back with the image. Save As to a different format carries them over where it can, but a change of format may not keep all of it.
Can I resize an image to exact pixel dimensions?
Yes. Resize takes a width and height in pixels, keeps the aspect ratio locked unless you turn the lock off.
Can LynxOffice edit animated GIFs?
No. An animated GIF opens as a still image of its first frame.
