Mark the areas, then apply. Affected pages are converted to images with the marked areas blacked out, so the text underneath is permanently removed rather than hidden under a shape.

Draw or place a signature, fill in and validate form fields, and apply Approved, Draft, Confidential, Final, or Reviewed stamps.
Pages
Insert, extract, duplicate, rotate, crop, reorder, and split pages, and edit bookmarks and the outline.

Search the whole document, compare two PDFs side by side with every text difference listed and highlighted, view document properties, export a page as an image, and make scans searchable with OCR.
OCR runs on your Mac. LynxOffice detects pages without a text layer, applies OCR in Traditional Chinese and English using Apple's on-device text recognition, and saves a searchable copy to a location you choose. The original scan stays unchanged.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I compare two PDFs?
Yes. Compare shows the older file on the left and the newer one on the right, highlights every text difference, and lists them so you can jump from one to the next. The highlights appear only on screen, and neither file is changed.
Does redaction remove the text, or only cover it?
It removes the text. Marks can be adjusted until you apply them. Applying converts the affected pages to images with the marked areas blacked out, so the underlying text no longer exists in the file.
Can it make a scanned PDF searchable?
Yes, offline. LynxOffice detects pages without a text layer, applies OCR in Traditional Chinese and English using Apple's on-device text recognition, and saves a searchable copy. Your scan is never uploaded.
Can it edit the text already on a PDF page?
No. LynxOffice annotates, redacts, signs, and reorganizes pages. To edit the text on a page, use LynxPDF, KDAN's advanced PDF editor. The Edit in LynxPDF button on the Edit tab opens your file in it.
Can I fill in a PDF form?
Yes. You can fill in and validate form fields in the app, and sign by drawing a signature or choosing a saved one.
